Italy Studies…

Florence, Italy

Florence, Italy

Friends, I am writing this entry to preview a trip I am all set to take this summer to Florence, Italy.  I will be staying for a month in the city and studying at the Florence Academy of Art.  Below are some samples of the student’s work after studying there.  It is one of the rare institutions left that teaches the classical method of painting like the masters, and I am extremely excited to be studying there!

But beyond that, there is the excitement, romance and richness that Florence holds; the thought of staying in a city that essentially produced some of the greatest artists and musicians of all time, and that is so full of history.  As the time draws closer (I leave in about a month) I am trying to learn Italian and read up on the methods of  the masters so I am not completely uneducated when I arrive.  I’ll be blogging regulary when  I get over there, and in that way I hope you will be able to share in my adventures.

Charleston Gallery Hopping

This week a few artist friends and I took a trip to Charleston, SC to see the galleries and the art scene there. Among the events that unfolded in Charleston, many were humorous, and many professionally exciting.  I will share one of the professionally exciting moments gladly:

My work is now represented at the Eden Boheme, possibly the most elegant, romantic and charming boutique that has ever existed.  And I love the name.  You’ll find there my original paintings, “Between Dances”, and soon “Sonnets”, among others.  If you are in the Charleston area, please don’t miss this lovely experience, found at 194 King Street.

New Gallery Representation- Mary Praytor Gallery

I am most excited to report that art lovers will be able to find my work in Mary Praytor Gallery, on 26 S Main St, Greenville, SC 29601.  The original oil painting of “Justin,” the image you see when you first visit my home page, is displayed there, with the possibility of more in the future.  I feel very fortunate to be a part of both Grove Gallery and now the Mary Praytor Gallery, two of the most quality galleries in Greenville (in my opinion).  Come visit the Mary Praytor Gallery for a taste of unusual, truly authentic art.  Every piece you see in Mary’s gallery has a soul, passion and quality about it, and I am really honored to be a part of the collection.
